What You can do to Stay Healthy

  • Stay informed. You can go to http://www.cdc.gov/ for up to date information on the flu.
  • Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
  • Take everyday actions to stay healthy.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.

End of First Six Weeks

Today is the End of the 1st 6 weeks!

Please remember to schedule your appointment time with your student’s teacher.

Forms, Forms, and More Forms

At the beginning of the school year, your child was given several forms that need to be completed by you, the parent.  These forms are very important and need to be returned as soon as possible.

  • The Lunch Program form needs to be returned by everyone enrolled in the program  for the 2009-2010 school year.  This form is now online on the school webpage under the cafeteria program tab.
  • The Student Information sheet needs to be completed with accurate phone numbers, addresses, and allowed pick up persons. If any information changes throughout the year, please let the office know. This information is very important if there should be an emergency.
  • The Technology Forms need to be signed and returned. If check yes, this allows your child to access Study Island, Success Maker, and many other educational programs used to help students excel.  If you checked no, students will not be allowed to use the computers within the district. If you would like to change a no, please email or call your child’s teacher and they will send you another form to complete.

If you need to speak to Ann Cummings directly, her extension is 2251.

Meet the Teacher

I would like to invite everyone to Cumby ISD Meet the Teacher Thursday, August 2oth, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. Mr. Thorman will be available that evening if you have any questions concerning which bus your child rides to and from home.  Bring all you childs school supplies and leave them with your childs teachers. This will make your childs first day of school less stressful.  Please make sure that there is a working phone number for us to contact in case of an emergency.  There will be several forms sent home, please make sure all forms get turned in by the end of the first week of school. Reminder that all prescription medications must have a doctors authorization on file at the school and must be in orginal container.  Please be aware that there is a “NO CHANGE” policy in effect for this school year. It requires that all elementary students means of getting home remain the same throughout the year.  There will be a form sent home with further information. Please make sure you read this carefully.
